Technology helps build a relationship between teachers and students in a classroom environment. I think this helps with engagement and student interactions. Technology has evolved and has made an impact in today's schools. Technology is great way for students to communicate, conduct research and learn useful life skills.
The standard that I valued the most from ISTE is the citizen standard. This standard is meaningful to me because it represents future model in society. With the help of teachers, students are inspired to contribute and participate actively in the technology world. This standard has more key aspects of being a model in the classroom environment which is a representation of what Citizens are. Being a good citizen means that you're able to abide by the rules, listen, and treat others how you would like to be treated.
As for being a " digital native" I would agree that I am one. I feel fortunate to live in a time where technology is advancing and still making changes and empowerful impacts to the world today. Even though not everyone has access to this resource, it should be prioritized as a major priority. Digital native is referred to people of a young age that are born into the world of technology. One of the differences I noticed between digital natives and immigrants, is that natives have more advances when it comes to different tools presented in technology compared to the immigrants. The immigrants might need more of a guide to help them figure out what is what when it comes to different technology tools and resources. One of the differences that I think I would anticipate with my future students would be gaining interests into new aspects of what technology has to offer but also engaging and creating new applications.
